5 impressive features of Next-gen Hyundai i20
Before premiering at the Geneva motor show next week, Hyundai has officially released images of the next-gen Hyundai i20. The design of the new car is quite striking as had already been noticed from the spy shots. The car will be released in the Indian markets very soon. Let us take a look at some of the impressive features that will make this car stand apart.
The car is back with sharper interiors
The 2020 Hyundai i20 has a totally redesigned exterior. The car looks much sharper than it used to, at least from the front. The headlights have gone sleeker and the bumper has a design that is quite similar to that of the Elantra. The cascading grille from Hyundai is the most dominating feature of the front fascia. There is a bold character line on the side profile of the car. The rear of the car does not seem to get any update. However, the bumpers and the taillamps have been revised.
The interiors have been given a nice retouch
Even the interiors of the new Hyundai i20 is completely new. The dashboard can be similar to what can be found on some of the other models from the carmaker - the Grand i10 Nios or the Venue. The centre console, in its entirety, along with the instrument cluster, will get a revision. A new look would be imparted to the steering wheel. The colour code could either be all black or feature a dual-tone like the one available in the current generation. The upholstery will be made from fabric. This will help keep the costs down.
Some additional features to find a way
You will find the current generation of the Hyundai i20 to be well-equipped. You can expect that the new premium hatchback would have some additional features such as the Bluelink connect car system, automatic climate control, steering mounted audio controls, LED daytime running lights, projector headlamps, and wireless charging, among other features. These additional features will give the car an edge over its rivals.
New powertrain options to become available
The new generation of the Hyundai i20 will have the same 1.2-litre engine with 4 cylinders. Though the power and torque figures would be the same, the current generation is being upgraded to the new BS-6 emission regulations. There have been some speculations that the carmaker will add the 1.4-litre, 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine as well. The company might even offer the car in a DCT automatic.
The car will have more safety features
The new generation of the Hyundai i20 will meet all the safety regulations. The car would be scoring quite high in the realm. Dual airbags would be present in the car along with ABS and EBD. The car will feature a high-speed alert system, seat belt warning for driver and passengers, and rear parking sensors. All these safety features will be offered as standard.
These are some of the most impressive features of the new Hyundai i20.
