Skoda Octavia RS - another highlight of Auto Expo 2020
Skoda Octavia finally bid a farewell by welcoming its more powerful variant Skoda Octavia RS. On February 7, all roads led to Auto Expo 2020, where car manufacturers from across the globe showcased their upcoming models and concept cars. And Skoda Octavia RS 2020 from the Czech automobile manufacturer was among the show-stealers.

The media, critics, and car lovers got the opportunity to look and feel the new Octavia RS 245 that came in with its BS6 updates. According to the sources, this variant will be the last one to get BS6 updates as the new ones won’t be arriving anytime soon. This built quite the buzz around Octavia RS at Auto Expo 2020, of course, apart from the sedan’s elegant design and features.
The Features
The new Octavia RS flaunts the similar design features but with a sportier cabin. Inside is designed in black theme with the hit of red highlighting the sport seats and flat-bottom steering wheel. The sedan comes equipped with the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connections, power-adjustable driver’s seat, dual-zone climate control, and hands-free parking.
According to the latest Skoda Octavia images, the exterior gets design updates like 18-inch alloys, the spoiler dual exhaust tips, and vRS badges.
The Performance
For performance enthusiasts, Octavia RS is a dream option among the Skoda cars and more affordable than similar cars from BMW 3 Series, Audi A4, and Mercedes-Benz C-Class.
However, the company has announced the new Octavia RS245 as a limited edition. So the Indian market will only see 200 units of the new performance sedan. The car gets power from the 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine generating 245PS and 370Nm of torque. The engine comes mated with the 7-speed auto DSG with an electronic limited-slip differential for a better grip on the front axle.
The Price
The carmaker showcased the long-teased performance sedan Skoda Octavia RS 245 in India at the 2020 Auto Expo. Skoda Octavia RS price is around Rs 36 lakhs; however, the on-road price will exceed the ex-showroom price tag. The reason behind the substantial amount over the standard model is all the units of the model will hit the Indian market as Completely Built Units (CBU). The Skoda Octavia RS has no direct rival but it does take premium space in the line of luxurious sedans that of the likes of BMW3 Series, Audi A4, and Jaguar XE in terms of performance.
