All you need to know about Mahindra XUV300 AMT

Ever since the Mahindra XUV300 was launched in February 2019, it has become popular in the SUV segment. While both car-lovers and critics have been praising the manual version, there was a long wait in the market for Mahindra XUV300 AMT.

Now that the wait is over, everyone’s eager to know more about Mahindra XUV300 price & variant and modern features.

The newly launched AMT model is offered in two alternatives – W8 and W8 (O). To drive this slick SUV to your home, you’ll have to pay between Rs. 11.50 lakh and Rs. 12.70 lakh depending on the variants.

Although the SUV was launched in petrol as well as diesel options, the automatic variant is only available for the diesel version. The automatic version uses the 6-speed automated manual transmission (AMT). The interesting thing is this transmission is totally different from the slow-shifting 5-speed AMT unit in TUV300.

Talking about the interior, the XUV300 has continued the same alluring design with its black and beige theme. The cabin flaunts spacious and airy vibes, and you enjoy the great road visibility from the commanding driver seat.

What caught our attention is the automatic gear lever, which we found sturdy and easy to slot into different modes. The lack of a clutch pedal gives more legroom, and you enjoy a wide and comfortable dead pedal, which is a totally new experience from manual XUV.

As for the features, XUV300 offers high-class safety measures such as seven airbags including one for the driver’s knees. The other first-in-segment features include a sunroof, climate control, and front as well as rear parking sensors.

Now comes the main part – the driving experience of the XUV300 AMT. The SUV is powered by a 1.5-liter, 4-cylinder diesel engine, albeit in a higher state of tune than Marazzo. The new AMT variant comes with six cogs.

You only need a light foot on the throttle and the SUV powers up through the initial gears smoothly and effortlessly. We had a great experience driving XUV300 AMT through the heavy city traffic. The gearbox is designed for the quick response, and it smoothly drops downs gears when you command more from it.

Even driving on the highway, the XUV300 AMT puts you in full command when cutting the traffic. The driver-aid features such as hill start assist and hill descent control help on the steep roads. The auto-adjusted IRVM adjusts the light intensity in the rearview mirror, making your night travel stress-free and safer.
