The Indian car market saw numerous new launches, upgrades and facelifts in the past calendar year. Both global and local car manufacturers are striving hard to strengthen their hold in the Indian market as India is one of the biggest car market in the world. As we go across the last quarter of the year, we bring you the list of some of the most anticipated cars ready to take on the Indian streets.

  • 2018 Hyundai Santro

Hyundai is all set its one of the most successful and highly anticipated new version of the hatchback Santro. This upcoming car was expected to launch in October, 2018. However, the launch seems to be delayed by a few months. This new car will fit in between the Eon and the Grand i10 under Hyundai's portfolio. Hyundai has confirmed that this latest car will be more spacious than other existing compact cars in the segment. According to latest car reviews, this new car obtains a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder engine from the Eon. The Santro 2018 will also be Hyundai’s first car to get its own Automatic Transmission.

  • The New Honda Civic

Honda is finally launching one of its most awaited new car in India. The new generation Civic was initially unveiled at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo. This new car comes with a 1.6-litre, four-cylinder, i-DTEC turbocharged diesel engine that produces 118bhp and 300Nm of torque. The 6-speed manual and CVT automatic gears will handle transmission duties for this latest car. The new Civic is based on the new chassis which will make it lighter, safer and more stiffer as compared to the existing model of Civic. This price of this car ranges between Rs. 15-20 lakhs.

  • Jeep Renegade

Made on the 4x4 platform, The Jeep Renegade will launch in India by early next year. This new car in India will share the engine variants with Jeep Compass which is already launched. The Renegade is powered by 2.0-litre diesel engine and 1.4-litre turbo petrol engine. Car reviews suggest that 6-speed manual standard transmission is confirmed; however, Renegade is also expected to be offered with the 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission in both petrol and diesel varients. This new car in India will come with a new 1.0-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine, which will churn out almost 120bhp. The Renegade will also get a 1.3-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that will come in two states of tune i.e. 150 bhp and 180 bhp.

  • Tata Tiago and Tigor

After showcasing the JTP versions of the Tiago and Tigor at the 2018 Auto Expo, Tata Motors have finally launched Tiago JTP and Tigor JTP priced at 6.39 lakh and 7.49 lakhs respectively. As the name suggests, the JTP models are essentially the performance-oriented models, with multiple cosmetic as well mechanical changes.
